Star Dream - Kirby: Planet Robobot

This is... still one of my favourite cosplays. It's the only costume I've won a prize for as of 2026! That's not the only reason, of course - Planet Robobot is one of my favourite Kirby games and I put a lot of love into this one.

The design was initially based on an old Galactic Nova design I saw on Pixiv, but I put a lot of thought into not making it a straight copy - the design incorporates details from all phases of the boss fight. The corset, blue panels and bracelets are based on the first phase, where you fight Star Dream itself. During the second phase it plugs into the top of the Access Ark, which I represented with the embroidery on the back of the skirt as well as the headpiece. Finally, the Ark reveals itself to be a clockwork comet (just like Galactic Nova), and that's where the rest of the design comes from! The trim around the skirt represents the border of Star Dream's face, and the pink star on both the skirt and my face are also from this phase. And of course I have my obligatory Silly Prop! President Haltmann gets mind-controlled by the machine before the fight begins, so I couldn't resist turning him into a literal puppet.

I've remade the corset since I first wore it, but haven't managed to get any photos with it yet.
